Acorn Digital Learning Shortlisted For Prestigious Awards

Acorn Digital Learning part of the Acorn Education and Care division at Outcomes First Group, have been shortlisted as finalists for a number of prestigious awards, including:

  • BETT Awards 2021 –  ‘The Covid-19 Response Champions Awards – UK Companies’
  • Education Investor Award 2020- ‘Private Education Group of the Year’.
  • LaingBuisson Awards 2020 – ‘Children’s Services Award’

 

Acorn Digital Learning was launched two years ago, following the recognition for the growing need to support vulnerable children and young people in alternative ways, adapting to the needs of the individual and improving stability within education.

When school closures were announced in March 2020, a programme was put into place to roll out the Acorn Digital Learning online live teaching platform to all Outcomes First Group’s 45 specialist schools. Acorn Digital Learning trained over 750 teaching and support staff in the use of the online classroom, delivered 16,950 lessons and registered 1,800 pupils in 3 days!

Acorn Digital Learning were able to ensure a continuity of learning for young people, maintaining both structure to the school day and daily contact with their teachers, as well as helping to reduce student anxiety, improve wellbeing and performance for those who found the classroom challenging, continued therapeutic support and enabling teachers to adapt to new ways of teaching and develop new skills.
